Bomb Blast At Nigeria President’s Rally

Gombe — Two separate explosions on Sunday afternoon rocked Gombe, capital of Gombe state.

According to eye witness accounts, the first explosion occurred close to at Tsowar Kaswa and killed the two men bearing the bomb on a motorcycle. It occurred at about 2:45pm. The location is near the Gombe stat government house and opposite the grain market.

No other person was affected according to preliminary reports.

Some 20 minutes later, another one went off in another part of the town, Kasuar katako (Timber market). The Boko Haram militants have shifted their bombing spree to Gombe in recent months.

Since the early hours of Sunday, Nigerian troops have being battling elements of the Boko Haram militants in Maiduguri who launched attacks on the city from multiple fronts.
