Rihanna has announced that she will be heading on a brand new worldwide tour this month which will see the singer head to seven different countries across one week to promote her new album Unapologetic.
The ‘We Found Love’ hitmaker will be kicking off the ‘777’ tour on November 14 in the UK, which is so far the only location to be announced. The trek will see Rihanna jet around the world on a Boeing 777 adding to the theme which is inspired by the release of her seventh studio album.
The 24-year-old has kindly invited 150 journalists representing 82 countries and a selected group of her Rihanna Navy fans. The tour will finish on November 19 which is also the release of her forthcoming record. In addition to the 777 tour, Rihanna will be heading on a mammoth tour across North American in 2013.
The news comes as pop singer Olly Murs was forced to defend himself and artists like Rihanna for releasing albums on an annual basis, saying there’s no point in staggering out records if the music is already completed.
“People have been tweeting me saying, ‘Third album in three years’. It’s like Rihanna and various other artists,” Olly told Newsbeat.
“If you’ve got the songs there why hold back? Why wait? Just get it out there. I think it’s a good thing.”
November will be a busy month for Rihanna with the tour and new album, while reports have mounted that she will also be going public with her romance with former beau Chris Brown after the album is released.
Ahead of their alleged reunion, Rihanna is also said to be getting close to Chris’ mother Joyce who has been giving the singer dating advice.
“For your info, she’s been reconnecting with Joyce and they had dinner the other day…They talked about life and what’s important in life and of course you know they talked about Chris,” an insider told Hollywood Life.
“I ain’t about to get into specifics about what their conversation was about but I know Joyce loves my girl and always thought highly of her.”
