The investigation was initially thought to have been dropped
Chris Brown may still be in trouble over his alleged brawl with Frank Ocean in January, with reports that the singer could still face battery charges over the incident.
The ongoing feud between the two R&B singers reached a climax earlier this year when they reportedly got into an altercation outside a recording studio in Los Angeles, which allegedly resulted in Chris striking Frank first and a brawl between the two camps ensuing.
While it was believed the investigation had been dropped after ‘Swim Good’ singer Frank decided not to press charges, TMZ reports that the L.A. County D.A.’s Office still has an active file open on the case and is in the process of determining whether or not Chris should face prosecution.
Coincidentally, Chris, 24, is expected to appear in court today for a probation review hearing and it’s possible that the judge will bring up the incident as the singer is expected to obey all laws as per the terms of his parole.
The ‘Don’t Judge Me’ singer can’t seem to escape trouble with the law as he is also believed to be under investigation for an alleged hit-and-run incident which happened last month. Reports claimed Chris initially refused to handover his insurance details to the other driver involved in the incident, and was later accused of giving them false information.
However, a rep for the singer told EntertainmentWise that he did hand over the correct details.
Chris managed to escape jail in 2009 after pleading no contest to assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, and was given community service and a four-year probation.
