She will be attending the celebration service at Westminster Abbey next Tuesday
The Duchess of Cambridge will join members of the Royal Family to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation, it was announced today.
Kate, 31, will be almost eight months pregnant by the time she, husband William, brother-in-law Harry and a host of senior royals come together for the celebration service at Westminster Abbey next Tuesday.
It will be one of the last public outings she will make before her baby is due mid-July.
Her final official appearance is expected to be at the naming of a Princess Cruise Ship on June 13 in Southampton.
Next week’s service will commemorate almost exactly 60 years since the 27-year-old Queen Elizabeth was crowned on June 2 1953.
About 2,000 guests have been invited, including representatives of different faiths, foreign dignitaries and armed forces personnel as well as some who were involved in the Queen’s Coronation six decades ago.
Other royals attending include Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince Andrew and daughters Beatrice and Eugenie, Prince Edwards and his family, Princess Anne and Mike Tindall and Zara Phillips.
The 11am service will be taken by the Dean of Westminster the Very Reverend Dr John Hall and the Archbishop of Canterbury will give the address.
David Cameron will give a reading and a poem by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy will be read out.
Westminster Abbey has been the coronation church since 1066 and has witnessed 38 coronations since William the Conqueror.
Kate was last seen in public at a Buckingham Palace garden party.
