The former heavyweight boxer talked at length about his dark past and the path he took to clean up his life.

“I just threw up the white flag,” Tyson said during the interview, which can be seen below. “There was too many prison cells, too many jails, too many lawsuits, too many bankruptcies, too many women, too many venereal diseases, too many everything.”

“I got tired. I really got tired of, you know, like every time a prostitute - I would head back from a trip — I had to sleep with her,” he added. “So I just said, ‘I’m going to live a different life.'”

He apologized for over sharing but then said, “I was a prostitute hunter!”

Tyson’s show will run for six nights at the Longacre Theatre in New York City from July 31 to August 5. The show will be directed by Spike Lee. It marks the Broadway debut for both Tyson and Lee and the show first debuted during a weeklong run in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand in April.

At 20, Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champion in 1986. In 1992 he was convicted of raping a beauty pageant contestant in Indianapolis and served three years in jail. He bit off a piece of Evander Holyfield’s ear during a boxing match in 1997.

In 2003, he declared bankruptcy and he retired from professional boxing in 2006. In the past four years, Tyson was also arrested on drug and alcohol-related charges.

The show will reportedly include stories about his time in prison, his marriage to actress Robin Givens and the time he spent in a psychiatric clinic as a result of his addiction to cocaine, according to The Associated Press.

Tyson has cleaned up his life and has returned to fame, making memorable cameo appearances in “The Hangover” and “The Hangover II.”

Tickets for Tyson’s show are priced $75 to $199, with VIP tickets going for $300.
