Security Agents Kill Suspected Boko Haram Leader, Arrest 156 Others

Security operatives from the “Operation Restore Sanity” squad , Monday, killed a suspected Boko Haram chief and arressted 156 others. The arrested men are suspected to be members of the insurgent group who have terrorized the nation for sometime. The killing and arresting took place in Mubi, Adamawa state. Of the 156 people arrested, four are believed to be top unit commanders who oversaw and facilitated the bombing of telecommunication masts in various parts of the North.

During the raid, four women and six children were rescued from a house  believed to be the store house for the group’s ammunition.  The Brigade Commander, Brig.-Gen. John Nwoaga, accompanied by the state Police Commissioner, Mr. P. C. Okeke, said the suspected insurgent leader was shot by soldiers while trying to resist arrest.
