Star sends out tweet…
Alexandra Burke may have been left devastated when she learned that boyfriend Jermain Defoe had cheated on her with other women, but now the singer has sent a tweet, reaching out to the footballer following his father’s recent death.
The England footballer flew back to the UK ahead of the start of the Euro 2012 campaign to be with his family after his father Jimmy died on Wednesday (June 6) after a long battle with cancer.
The ‘Broken Heels’ singer sent out a tweet that seemed to be a message of support for the footballer, as she wrote: “When God needs his angels home, he comes calling. Life is too short.Cherish your loved ones at all times. U never know what2day will bring x.”
Alexandra ended up dumping the footballer after he allegedly had several affairs including one with 26-year-old Kirsty Crummey, and she admitted that she was struggling to deal with the heartbreak.
But she’s put her own issues aside to seemingly reach out to the grief-stricken striker. “I want to thank the fans, my family &friends, the England boys, the FA & the manager for their support,” the 29-year-old tweeted.
“I can’t tell you how much it means to me, I love you all, may God bless you. “A special thank you to Royal Marsden’s doctors & nurses who looked after my dad v.special people.”
