Chris Brown sent fans into a frenzied panic yesterday when he announced that he will be quitting music after his next album, ‘X,’ is released this month, revealing that he is fed up with being constantly vilified for assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
The ‘Don’t Judge Me’ singer was spotted sneaking into a Los Angeles jail on Monday afternoon to turn himself in over the car accident charges he faces, after allegedly failing to hand over correct insurance details and a valid license to the other driver.
With reports that the troubled singer is facing up to four years in jail, it seems the constant stream of negative attention finally got to Chris this week as he made a shocking announcement on Twitter which has no doubt disappointed his millions of fans.
“Don’t worry, mainstream America. After this X album, it’ll probably be my last album,” Chris tweeted on Tuesday.
“Being famous is amazing when it’s for your music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when I was 18. I’m cool and over it!” he added alluding to the publicity surrounding his brutal attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna four years ago.
Since the incident, Chris, 24, has slowly but surely gotten his career back on track with a string of number one hits, but the negative press threatens to hold him back.
While most people have praised the singer’s apparent decision to quit music, his loyal fans will are no doubt devastated at the possibility of Chris going into hiding.

5. His ever changing hair colour – one minute it’s black, then brown, and next he’s having fun as a blonde but what we’re really waiting for a shocking red or green.
6. At first they simply frightened us, but we’ve grown rather fond of Chris’ bizarre artwork!
7. If Chris disappears from the spotlight does that mean his adorable on/off girlfriend Karrueche Tran will go too?
8. Say what you will about his questionable experiments with EDM on tracks like ‘Yeah 3X’ and ‘Beautiful People,’ but there’s no denying that he makes great R&B. Just listen to ‘No Bulls**t,’ ‘Don’t Think They Know’ and ‘Fine China’ to see what we mean!
