Eminem announces new album with baseball cap: Dumbest musical PR stunt?

The tribute hat went on sale on Monday and is available through Eminem’s website and modelled in honor of his home team, the World Series runner-up Detroit Tigers.

Along the side are the words “World Champion,” and underneath that are a series of dates: one for every Eminem solo album, running from 1996 (“Infinite”) until 2010 (“Recovery”). And then, after that, there is a “2013.” Either that’s an error, or a new solo album is on the way!

If a new album is on the way, this will be Eminem’s eighth solo album. His seventh, “Recovery,” sold 741,000 copies in its first week and featured guest appearances by Rihanna, P!nk and Lil Wayne.
