One Direction say goodbye to pizza as they’re forced to go on a health kick before US tour

One Direction

The boyband are going to be eating like Gwyneth Paltrow from now on. Good luck with that, we hear mung beans are lovely (deep fried and covered in melted cheese)

Boys will be boys. And, in the case of teenage boys, this means girls, pizza and X Box. Usually in that order.

But not for One Direction.

The world’s biggest boyband’s usual Meat Feast with stuffed crust is now off the menu after a full-time private chef was hired to accompany them on their current world tour.

Concerned that the boys aren’t getting their five a day, management has asked the catering team to dish up a range of uber-healthy food.

Top cook Sarah Nicholas, who runs Sarah’s Kitchen, will be joining Harry, Niall, Liam, Louis and Zayn on tour, serving up nutritious meals.

A source says: “Sarah worked with the guys on their last tour and became like a surrogate mum for them all, particularly Harry. She tries to offer the boys their favourite foods but healthier versions of them, using natural, often organic ingredients. They particularly like Mexican food.

“With 1D’s hectic schedule and gruelling lifestyles, it’s essential they eat properly and start looking after themselves.

“This basically means Sarah has been charged with getting more fruit and veg down them, and staving off colds as much as possible. They’re currently drinking loads of smoothies.”

In-demand Sarah has previously worked with JLS, Olly Murs, Il Divo and, er, Jedward.

During 1D’s first stint in the US, the lads’ shattering workload saw Louis and Zayn come down with colds. Both were ordered to dose up on orange juice as well as having vitamin B12 injections.

Currently on the UK leg of their Take Me Home world tour, the boybanders tonight perform the second of two gigs at Birmingham’s LG arena.

As well as throwing themselves around on stage most nights, and doing massive PR, the workaholic fivesome have also been filming for their upcoming 3D concert movie, which they recently announced will be called This Is Us, in recent weeks.

Luckily, a carrot is exactly what you fancy after a long day at work. Isn’t that right boys?
