22-year-old Jordin, who starred alongside Whitney in her final movie Sparkle, belted out a rendition of the legendary singer’s ‘I’m Every Woman,’ before Melanie Fiona appeared in the aisles to sing ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’, which then transitioned into ‘It’s Not Right But It’s Okay.’

Meanwhile, Whitney’s close friend Brandy gave a touching speech during the event in which she shared some of her fondest memories of the songstress.

“The first concert I ever went to was a Whitney Houston show and I was determined to get close to her,” Brandy told the audience.

“I talked my way through security until I finally made it backstage, but by then she was already gone. Years later, I finally got to meet her and even shared the VH1 Divas stage with her.”

Meanwhile, soul singer Ledisi took to the stage to perform a stunning rendition of Whitney’s ‘How Will I Know’, before being joined by Jordin and Melanie to wrap up the show.

Whitney passed away on February 11, 2012, at the age of 48 after accidentally drowning in a bath at the Beverly Hilton Hotel the night before the Grammy Awards which she was due to attend.

Whitney’s years of substance abuse and heart disease also contributed to her death.
