Sunday, wedding bells rang for Sir Elton John and his long-time partner David Furnish.
The 67-year-old legendary singer-songwriter officially married Furnish near London, nine years to the day since the two entered into a civil union.
They tied the knot at a posh wedding ceremony at their estate in Windsor, with a guest list that included major celebrities. The couple’s two toddler sons, Zachary and Elijah, were ring-bearers.
John said he is very proud of Britain, where same-sex marriage is now legal nearly everywhere.
England and Wales began recognizing same sex marriages earlier this year. Scotland followed last week, but only civil unions are recognized in heavily Catholic Northern Ireland.
