Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge chose bright blue for her Valentine’s Day visit to Northholt High School in London today where she’s set to officially open a new Art Room project at the school.

Despite the overcast and windy weather the Duchess managed to stand out in a figure hugging L.K. Bennett dress and black heeled pumps with a black clutch as she arrived for the official visit. According to The Mirror she was met by cheers from the pupils who were excited to welcomed their royal visitor on the most romantic day of the year.

The hands on Duchess made an appearance at their school assembly, before being given a tour of the new Art Room which will serve 60 pupils a week who are suffeing from emotional and behavioural difficulties. She also took part in an art therapy lesson and spoke to students who will be benefiting from the new facility.
Kate became a royal patron for the Art Room on January 5 2012. The charity, aimed at children of school age, offer art therapy to those who are experiencing difficulties.

In a statement from the charity at the time, Director and Founder Juli Beattie said: “On behalf of all of our Trustees and staff and the children and young people we support, I want to thank the Duchess for choosing The Art Room.

It is a fantastic endorsement of the work we do and the role that art and creativity can play in helping children and young people whose start in life has been difficult.”

The appearance is the second for the Duchess this week following a gala dinner reception at the National Portrait Gallery on Tuesday night.
