Grammys to announce nominations Dec. 5

The Recording Academy will announce almost all the nominees for the 57th Grammy Awards the morning of Dec. 5, saving one category for later in the day.

The announcement of nominees for the academy’s top prize, album of the year, will come that night during A Very Grammy Christmas, a one-hour special featuring performances from Ariana Grande, Pharrell Williams, Maroon 5 and Tim McGraw (CBS, 9 p.m. ET/PT). LL Cool J will host A Very Grammy Christmas, which tapes Nov. 18 at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium.

Further details regarding the revealing of nominations for the other 82 categories will come later.

The Grammys first held a concert special to announce nominations in 2008.
