The incident occured Wednesday.

According to the reuters.com the custom-mad Calvin Klein Collection by Francisco Costa dress fitted with 6,000 natural white pearls was stolen from the actor’s London Hotel when she had stepped out.

Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s Lieutenant William Nash said no arrests have been made as police review CCTV footage for leads on the thief.

The dress was one of the stand-outs on the red carpet at last Sunday’s Oscars. Nyong’o told Reuters she had helped with the design of the one-of-a-kind gown, influenced by the ocean.

Neither Lupita nor Calvin Klein have made any public statements concerning the theft of the dress.
