What In The?!?! Staten Island Mom Sues The City For $900 Trillion (DETAILS)

A Staten Island mother of two boys felt her children were improperly placed in foster care and she wants big bucks for it!

Fausat Ogunbayo, 46, filed a $900 trillion suit against New York’s Administration for Child Services (ACS) for removing her two boys, who were at the time 10 and 12, from her home in 2008.

According to SILIVE, Fausat alleged that her two boys “suffered over three years of terror, horror, grievous harm, time lost, substantial economic hardship and injuries” because of the removal from their original home in June of 2008.

The children were taken from Fausat because of reports in 2008 of mistreatment of her two sons, which included leaving them unattended after school for up to 7 hours and being completely absent on weekends. ACS also maintained that Fausat was mentally unstable and had refused to receive “necessary treatment for her mental health issues.”

In her initial suit, the Appellate Court ruled in her favor saying: “Proof of mental illness alone will not support a finding of neglect unless there’s a causal link between the parent’s condition and actual or potential harm to the child.”

Despite the ruling, the children are still in ACS custody because they have filed a petition in Family Court.

Fausat, who submitted handwritten statements from her children saying they wanted to be with their mother, may have a strong case in Brooklyn’s federal court after this ruling.
