Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin has revealed that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S5 in Barcelona at 6pm on 23 February.

Murtazin can squeeze an impressive amount of information into 140 characters, as he also revealed that the Galaxy S5 will be priced the same as its Samsung Galaxy S4 predecessor at around £630, and that it will come with a reworked version of Touchwiz, likely the version that was leaked online yesterday.

While that’s all Murtazin could squeeze into a tweet, that’s not all we know about the Samsung Galaxy S5.

The much-hyped handset is expected to arrive in two versions – a metal clad high-end model, and a cheaper plastic model. The metal version reportedly will be powered by Samsung’s eight-core Exynos 6 chip, while the more affordable plastic model will feature a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is also expected to have a larger screen than its predecessor, with online speculation suggesting 2K HD resolution. There’s also talk that this screen might be flexible, but we take that rumour with a pinch of salt.

Other likely features include an iPhone 5S style fingerprint scanner, a 20MP rear-facing camera, an upgraded front-facing camera, Google’s Android 4.4 Kitkat mobile operating system and a 2,900mAh battery.

Along with its flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone, Samsung is also expected to unveil its second generation Galaxy Gear smartwatch as well as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom handsets.
