How have we come to rely on computers?

The latest generation have never had the experience of living in a world that is not dominated by the use of modern technology and all the indications are that this will be true of future generations too. There are people in their 20s that remember the computers of the late 80s and early 90s and it can be a definite eye-opener looking back at these machines today and seeing how outdated and limited they now seem to us. We can now communicate and keep up-to-date with people and happenings from the furthest places away from us in the world and this is a superb thing to have become possible. Computers are at the heart of such possibilities and for what seems like the majority of professions now it is a necessity to be proficient at using them. As fantastic as computers are, there are plenty of people who see our reliance on them as a worrying indicator of the age we are living in. The prospect of being away from family and friends is very rarely an easy one but computers have been invaluable in such a situation. You can now be thousands of miles from someone and still manage to stay up-to-date with their life. The fact you are able to instantly reach a person from so far away also means that you can make new connections quicker than you ever could before.

Keeping up-to-date with work

The working life now extends much further than the office for many people and computers are a vital element for all kinds of job sectors. Being able to keep in touch with the relevant people while you work on projects is massively helpful and computers enable individuals to liaise with each other even if they cannot meet up.

Medical advancements

Besides bringing the world closer together computers have also played a part in protecting the well-being of so many people. The medical field is one that continuously needs to keep on top of better ways to care for patients and computers are at the centre of this.
