She said the secretariat would be of benefit to mankind as it would be a vital tool in fostering peace in Africa and used for deliberations on best ways to resolve conflicts.

“I commission this secretariat to the glory of God and to the benefit of mankind, that this interim secretariat will bring peace to our countries and also bring peace to our regions.

“Peace will reign in Africa, there will be no war and there will be no conflict in Jesus name,” she said.

The hall in the secretariat was designed to accommodate all 33 African First Ladies and 200 observers.

The secretariat is fitted with a press gallery with gadgets that can transmit live in the four official African Languages – English, French, Portuguese and Arabic.

Meanwhile, the first ladies of South Africa, Sierra-Leone, Congo, Swaziland and Saharawi are present while 15 others were still being expected to arrive in all out of the 33 African First Ladies.
