HTC Sensation XE Review – A Spectacular Handset

The HTC Sensation XE handset is celebrated as the handset which brought back the glory of the HTC brand. With the launch of ‘S’ range handsets, the company was performing below the average of the market, as this device was viewed as a mere mildly upgraded version of the previously launched smart phones. This phone is tagged as a capable, above average smart phone catering to the lower income phone buyers. The phone best answers the needs of an individual with a low budget, but a desire to gel with the latest technology.

Design

The HTC Sensation XE in a sense possesses a great resemblance to the original Sensation phone. The unibody chassis, 8 megapixel cameras and an identical 4.3in qHD are some of the attributes which remind of the previous versions. This gorgeous handset is available in the elegant shade of black, instead of the silver shade which was standard on the previous version.

One of the striking features of this illustrious phone is that the Android buttons which are touch sensitive, illuminate with a red glow instead of the white light which was standard on the previous model. The splash of red also adorns the lens of the camera and the ear piece. The users of this device can actually paint the town red with this Smartphone.

The Beats Audio logo embellished on the rear of the Sensation XE is one of the attributes which spells a captivating charm upon the users. The unibody casing of this phone is composed of aluminium. The case of the rear battery, though possessing a robust build, is prone to cracking if it is pressed hard towards the phone’s edges. The design of this enthralling handset is quite thick in comparison to the other phones roaming on the roads of the mobile market.

The LCD screen of the phone portrays crisper text and a profusion of natural colours. However, the simple screen of the phone is incapable of matching the brightness and vibrancy of its competitors.

Hardware

The phone is supplied with a 16 GB MicroSD card by default. In comparison to the previous version the dual core 1.5 GHz processor has received a negligible level of up-gradation and the GPU on the other hand has become slightly over clocked. Due to this, the performance of the phone hasn’t leapt forward; however, it should be noted that the software is well powered and runs quickly and smoothly on this device.

The Android Gingerbread which is capable of being upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich is one of the optimal features of this beautiful handset. The 3264 x 2448 resolution camera with a dual LED flash and image stabilization feature acts as the handset’s media portal. In addition to this, the handset makes use of the Beats Audio technology, which is powerful enough to make full use of the multimedia apps on the phone.

The HTC Sensation XE has fared well in taking over the tasks left by its predecessors. Although this phone isn’t the biggest player in the arena of smartphones, it is priced affordably and is rather capable. The impressive battery life and reasonable screen definitely make this phone a good bang for your buck. Those of you who will take this phone everywhere will also probably enjoy the relatively compact size and light weight.
